A Tender June Wedding At Fleetwood Farm Winery

March 21, 2023

I am so happy to share the warm love glow from this beautiful wedding day at Fleetwood Farm Winery! Caper and Billy wanted to get married on “Loving Day”, a day dedicated to the historic court decision for interracial marriage, which created a mindful and open feeling for their day to unfold upon. These are exactly the kind of intentions we love to have with our couples, as having a purposeful and inclusive approach to love is also our approach to life!

The couple wanted to celebrate with bold summer colors that had a timeless feel to them, so we decided to highlight slate blue, burgundy and blush. Creating a sense of “community” was their number one priority, so our team used this word as a repeating theme throughout our planning process.

The emotions of the day were very present and flowing, as everyone was really enjoying the moments getting ready and catching up with each other. The ceremony really brought people together in such a sacred way. This moment really mattered the most for the bond their families were creating and building together.

We enhanced their venue’s natural surroundings by creating an even more lush garden feel. To make sure they were the main focus, we decided to keep the ceremony florals all in whites, creams and greens to not distract the attention from them at the top of the aisle.

Under the Pergola, they jumped the broom, which is a notorious historical black wedding tradition, where their officiant, Phil Jackson, provided a prayer and placed a broom on the ground for the newlyweds to jump over, representing the jump over a big hurdle, and even can identify the household decision maker for whoever can jump the highest!

Cocktail Hour was held in and outside of the Bar & Barrel room patio for an indoor and outdoor vibe, where lounge furniture from Paisley & Jade was placed to create comfortable pockets for their guests to mingle and enjoy refreshing cocktails.

Comfort food by Main Event Caterers was served in the form of passed bites, with the goal being that nothing would be stuffy, overstated or overdone. This relaxed approach really allowed guests to feel ease as they got to know new family members and blended together seamlessly.

After cocktail hour, guests moved upstairs to the Loft at Fleetwood Farm Winery. We created a cozy, romantic & comfortable design inspired by summer gardens. We incorporated a few different table looks between their rectangular and round tables, using bolder floral colors by Cedar & Lime to create pops off of their slate blue textured linens. Guests were served a delicious plated meal from Main Event Caterers, finishing with the bride’s all time favorite dessert, cheesecake, to end dinner on a memorable note!
