When I first decided to relocate from Charlottesville, Virginia to the DC metro area I’ll have to admit— the decision was a hard one! All things personal aside, I honestly just loved the comfort of the wedding vendors I knew to grow and love. Those kind of friendships, that kind of commitment, and that kind of support takes time to build. So “giving it up” after several years in the making really broke my heart!
But one thing was for sure, if I was going to move to a new area and start a wedding planning business I was going to do so with a bang. So a bang is what I set out to do.
First stop— Stone Tower Winery!
Ironically enough, I’m from Northern Virginia. So you’d think that a move back to the DMV wouldn’t be so difficult. But, let’s be real, I was 17 when I left and a lot has changed since. But one thing that I loved finding out was how many high school friends still stayed around these parts— including this beautiful bride, Shea!
Shea and I went to Herndon High School together (go Hornets!) We were friends then, parted ways to go explore the world, and reunited byway of wedding planning. When she reached back out to me after more than a decade apart, ready to plan her wedding I knew it was fate.
Shea and Greg met in quite possibly the most fun, millennial way…in a corn hole league! It was something Shea loved in her college days and something Greg always did while tailgating at Redskins games. Fast forward to discussing the details of their wedding it was something they both knew they had to include.
Also on the list was her gown, a classic Lazaro style 3201, and a bouquet of white peonies to match. Non-negotiable! For anyone who knows flowers, finding peonies in the month of August is like finding a needle in a hot haystack. A near impossible fete! But, low and behold, we found her both the dress and the bouquet!
We had hit the wedding jackpot!
