When asked to help plan Sarah and Napoleon’s wedding, my heart screamed with excitement. Not only is the bride a college friend of mine, but the groom was also in the wedding party from another ACW couple (peep their wedding here)! I knew with the combination, I was in for a treat.
They decided to get married on Sarah’s families property, Avon Hill Lodge. The venue itself is a family treasure, originally created through Sarah’s late father’s vision. The couple had been visiting its gorgeous grounds for years together and there was absolutely no question in their minds that “this was the place.”
From the very beginning of our planning, they had a clear vision— just in need of a plan! A few keywords became the driving force behind their days design:
Jewel-toned colors, gold, and a LOT of velvet!
From there, the rest was history.
We focused our design primarily around these three things, also keeping in mind what already existed around the property. Surrounding their reception space inside of Bruce’s Barn, the venue itself was a greenery filled canvas with gorgeous mountain views. Inside of the barn, we were mindful to play up the rich wooden textures, highlight them minimally, while allowing the couples personal touches and aesthetic to really shine.
