Natalie & Erik were such a magical couple I had the honor or working with. This wedding had occurred during our gorgeous summer wedding season. Their venue was an exclusive one and it overlooks all of Charlottesville. At the peak you can see Thomas Jefferson’s home. From the moment Natalie and Erik toured the venue, it was painfully clear that this would be something their guests were sure to enjoy.
The rest, as they say, was history!
From the beginning of our planning, there were a few things that they knew they wanted to include in their wedding. Natalie in particular had an adoration for Ginger Jars and bright citrusy tones. Knowing those two things quickly caught her eye, we decided to make them to center of their wedding day design. The blue tones paired with the summer yellow citrus created a day that was absolutely unforgettable for us all.
This happy couple had the most heart warming first look right outside of Montalto’s stately Repose building. They could not take their eyes off of each other as they soaked in what was bound to be one of their absolute favorite days of their lives.
Right after their first look, they had a Ketubah signing. This is a Jewish wedding contract that’s signed in the presence of immediate family. In Jewish tradition, this is something two families becoming one do together right before their more public ceremony.
N & E had a beautiful, Jewish wedding ceremony. It included the stomping of the glass, a Rabbi leading the ceremony, and a Chuppah. A Chuppah is a structure that is meant to resemble the home you build together- “four walls and a ceiling”. In this Chuppah, the ceiling was Natalie’s grandmothers heirloom. The florals from Cedar & Lime Collective that decorated the ceremony created the most perfect summer vibe. I will never forget Natalie and Erik’s faces when they saw their gorgeous florals for the very first time!
The reception was held under a beautiful sailcloth tent, overlooking the entire city of Charlottesville, Virginia. Their details included a very light, majestic look with tons of beautiful blue shades. With ginger jars and summer citrus being an on-going theme in our design inspiration, together they helped intensify the overall look of their gorgeous mountaintop wedding reception. I will forever be obsessed with the beauty of these airy details. As the day turned to night, the tent gave off a fairy-like glow.
Once the sun set, The Catering Outfit swept in with an exquisite plated dinner service while guests were serenaded by Natalie and Erik’s groovy live band. There was endless smiles as the lovely couple and their people danced under the lights.
