At Angelica & Co., we’ve had the honor of planning countless weddings, but none quite as enchanting as the union of our lovely couple, Emily and Kamay. On the beautiful autumn afternoon of October 14th, 2023, the historic Meridian House in Washington DC bore witness to a celebration that will forever be etched in the annals of our planning history.
As the gates of the historic Meridian House swung open on the crisp autumn morning of October 14th, anticipation hung in the air. Our team arrived on site and got to work setting up the couples personal decor and details in the grand foyer and hunter green library room. Sophie Felts Floral‘s team worked hard to bring the couple’s vision of a greenery door installation to life, giving the couples and their guests a stunning grand entrance!
After getting ready together in their home that morning, Emily & Kamay made their grand entrance to the property in a private Rolls Royce by Vintage Limos. They looked absolutely stunning in chapel train gowns and gorgeous Manolo Blahnik heels to match! They radiated joy and elegance, setting the stage for a day that would blend sophistication with celebration. Our meticulous planning and organizational expertise ensured that every moment, from their arrival to the final dance, unfolded seamlessly.
From the moment guests stepped into the meticulously adorned Meridian House, they were greeted by a sea of bold pink and red flowers courtesy of the talented Sophie Felts Floral. Each arrangement seemed to embody the couple’s story, showcasing a perfect blend of femininity and liveliness. The carefully chosen floral elements added an enchanting touch to the venue, setting the tone for the romantic day ahead.
Emily & Kamay planned on having an intimate ceremony at Meridian House with their six closest family & friends present. Against the backdrop of Meridian House’s timeless architecture, a live string quartet by Two Rivers Chamber Music welcomed their family members inside with melodic harmony as they took their seats.
When Emily & Kamay walked in the room together, emotions were high. They exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony surrounded by their closest circle of family and friends. Our planning expertise shone as we orchestrated this deeply personal moment, creating an atmosphere that embraced the couple’s unique love story. The floral arrangements by Sophie Felts Floral added a touch of romance, encapsulating the essence of their commitment.
Following the heartfelt exchange, the newlyweds opened the doors to an extravagant cocktail hour that embraced a black-tie dress code. The combination of elegance and warmth set the stage for an evening of celebration that would be remembered for years to come. Passed appetizers by Susan Gage Catering were enjoyed in the Linden Grove, with the gorgeous colors of fall surrounding everyone.
Dressed in black tie, guests reveled in an atmosphere of sophistication. Our planning team flawlessly executed the transition from a small, intimate ceremony to an expansive celebration, showcasing our ability to tailor each element to the couple’s vision. The carefully chosen details set the tone for an evening that would be both refined and exuberant.
The celebration of love and union reached an emotional peak as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the picturesque Linden Grove. Underneath the soft illumination of bistro lights, family and friends of Emily and Kamay gathered for a series of heartfelt speeches that added a deeply personal touch to the evening.
Throughout the day, our design expertise was evident in every detail. From the vibrant floral arrangements that spoke of romance to the bespoke decor that reflected the couple’s personalities, each element was carefully curated to tell a unique love story. Lucy Black Entertainment brought the celebration to life, turning the reception into a lively dance party. The dance floor was a spectacle of joy, enhanced by props and leis that added a playful touch to the festivities. The dynamic entertainment ensured that every guest was on their feet, letting loose and enjoying a delicious assortment of desserts.
As the night sky enveloped the enchanting Meridian House grounds, the wedding celebration of Emily and Kamay culminated in a dazzling display of joy and sparkle. The exuberant sparkler send-off into their Rolls Royce getaway car marked the grand finale, creating a moment that would linger in the memories of all who attended.
