Picture this…wide open spaces, sweeping Blue Ridge Mountain views, sparkling chandeliers, and the most elegant wood and stone finished wedding venue. Sounds too good to be true, right?
Well ladies and gents— The Lodge at Mount Ida Farm is just that! It is such a magnificent place to host a wedding. So when I heard that was Ellie and Neil’s wedding venue I was automatically in love! Their love story started way back when they were kids. Life pulled them a part for a bit, but almost a decade later they reunited nothing could tear them apart.
They planned a quintessential Charlottesville wedding with all of the local staples— Albemarle Baking Company and Carpe Donut to name a few! Focusing primarily on letting the venue shine, blue was the dominate color choice throughout their design. A nod to the Blue Ridge Mountains, perhaps?
Their day was filled with lots of laughter, bubbly, and one of the absolute best Charlottesville sunsets I’ve seen in quite sometime. Every detail from their vow books and invitations all the way down to the flowers in Ellie’s bouquet blended so seamlessly together.
My favorite moments were spent watching Ellie and Neil enjoy and embrace that newlywed life right after their ceremony. The quiet time I spend behind them and their photographers always brings me such indescribable joy. I soak in the moments, imagine how they’re feeling, and silently walk away with a cheesy toothless grin!
